The Accountant Is Basically Math Batman

You know those movies where you watch the trailer and expect to see what you saw in the trailer, but then you see the movie and realize “Wow, that trailer did NOT represent what happens in the movie at all”? The Accountant is one of those movies. Into the Woods: A Fun Ride with a Serious Message and Good Music

In a village just outside the woods, the Baker (James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt) make a deal with the Witch (Meryl Streep) to remove a family curse so they can finally have a child. Pitch Perfect Barden Bellas

Pitch Perfect is Perfect

Have you ever left a movie feeling like everything is right in the world? Because that’s exactly how I felt when I left Pitch Perfect last night. I don’t know if it’s because I had some serious choir nostalgia lodged in the deepest parts of my subconscious, or if it’s because I laughed for nearly two hours straight. What I do know is that this movie is fantastic, and I’m going to recommend it to everyone. Continue reading “Pitch Perfect is Perfect”

While this movie did stick with the white cop/ethnic cop pairing, it was most definitely not a comedy. Sure, it had its comedic moments, but this was more of a dramatic thriller. When I saw the trailer, I knew this was going to be different. And by different, I mean grittier and more developed. But more about that later… Continue reading “End of Watch: “Buddy Cop” Bromance”

ParaNorman movie

Stop-Motion! ParaNorman Time

Okay, so ParaNorman was made by the same people who made the Academy-Award-winning Coraline (which was also super freaky), so I knew it was going to be good. I didn’t see it in 3D because I didn’t feel it warranted 3D. A stop-motion film is amazing as it is. It doesn’t need any of that cinematic bullshit because, if it’s a good movie, there’s nothing to cover up (like a lacking plot or terrible acting).  Continue reading “Stop-Motion! ParaNorman Time”
