Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Come for the Music, Stay for the Laughs

This should be obvious by now, but I have to say it anyway. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a vibrant explosion of fun, and I don’t know what you’re doing with your life if you haven’t seen it. Now that that’s out of the way, we pick up where we left off from Guardians of the GalaxyContinue reading “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Come for the Music, Stay for the Laughs”

Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt in The Magnificent Seven (2016)

The Magnificent Seven: It’s All Shoot ‘Em Up, Blow ‘Em Up

The Magnificent Seven is one of those remakes that didn’t need to happen (because the 1960 version of the same name starring Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen is a classic). But since it did happen, I’m glad it’s nothing like most of the remakes we’ve seen. That is, this at least held up the entertainment end of “mindless entertainment.” Continue reading “The Magnificent Seven: It’s All Shoot ‘Em Up, Blow ‘Em Up”

Jurassic World: Bad Story, Badass Dinos

Twenty-two years after the failure of the first Jurassic Park, a new park called Jurassic World has been established on Isla Nublar to continue the vision of the late John Hammond. But in order to get visitors to come back each year, they need to keep introducing new dinosaurs, which leads the park’s scientists to create a genetically-enhanced, super-intelligent hybrid called the Indominus Rex. Guardians of the Galaxy Is a Must-See For Everyone

Although a peace treaty has been signed between the Kree and the Xandarians, the fanatic Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) intends to wipe out Xandar with the help of a highly-coveted Infinity Stone, which was unknowingly stolen by Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star Lord (Chris Pratt). Continue reading “Guardians of the Galaxy Is a Must-See For Everyone”

The LEGO Movie 2014

The LEGO Movie: Everything is Awesome

It’s fitting that “Everything is Awesome” is the name of the Tegan & Sara (feat. The Lonely Island) song that plays throughout this movie. Because “everything is awesome” is the exact phrase that I would use to describe The LEGO Movie. Let’s talk plot, shall we? Continue reading “The LEGO Movie: Everything is Awesome”

Cobie Smulders and Vince Vaughn, Delivery Man

Delivery Man Doesn’t Deliver

Can you tell it was a dead week? Yeah, I would not have chosen to see Delivery Man otherwise. Although the trailer sold a decent story (with indie-pop music), I’m just not a Vince Vaughn fan. In fact, I’m convinced he doesn’t actually act anymore; he just chooses roles where he can be variations of himself. So let’s not waste any time. This will be a short review (because this movie was a yawnfest). Continue reading “Delivery Man Doesn’t Deliver”

Movie 43

Movie 43 is About as Funny as Its Title

You know what’s not hilarious? Paying $9 a person for a movie that is so awful that you have to drink away the memories of just how awful it was. I will tell you right now that Movie 43 is one of the worst movies I’ve seen in a while. The last movie I saw that was this bad was The Watch—and even THAT had a more coherent storyline than this movie.  Continue reading “Movie 43 is About as Funny as Its Title”
