Recap of 2018 Golden Globes with GIFs

Good morning, ladies and remaining gentleman! Last night’s Golden Globes felt a little…weird, didn’t it? Not just because Hollywood is experiencing a creeper reckoning, but also because the show was kept extremely tight. It ended at 10pm, which practically never happens. Sure, it’s refreshing because I went to bed before midnight, but for the first time, it felt like I was just watching people hand out awards. Like the entertainment was sacrificed for efficiency. 2018 Golden Globes Predictions

Tonight, Seth Meyers hosts the Golden Globes, and it’s sure to be an interesting night. Meyers is one of the better late-night hosts, and he’s excellent at tackling current events, thanks to his years hosting Weekend Update on SNL. But more importantly, we’ve seen a social and cultural shift in Hollywood over the last few months, as the rapey, abusive creeps who’ve been gatekeeping opportunity and progress for decades are slowly but surely being weeded out. And it will no doubt be an underlying theme of the evening. I’m not saying I hope someone starts some shit tonight, but like I’m also not not saying that…(*whispers* Burn it down). Jimmy Fallon at the Golden Globes 2017

Recap of 2017 Golden Globes with GIFs!

Despite a fun cold open, the 2017 Golden Globes was, well, a stinker. And the source of the stink? Jimmy Fallon. Last night officially made it clear that Fallon is only funny when he’s playing off of other people. When it’s just him by himself, yikes. His opening monologue was garbage, and his jokes between awards were garbage. He even had Questlove onstage with him, yet that didn’t help improve his bits or spark some energy in the show. Oh, and Jimmy, if you’re going to do Chris Rock impressions, please remember… Continue reading “Recap of 2017 Golden Globes with GIFs!”

2017 Golden Globes Predictions

The Golden Globes are tonight, and Jimmy Fallon will be hosting, which is kind of perfect considering he’s the king of cheesy drinking games with celebrities, and the Globes are a cheesy, drunken shitshow for celebrities (I miss Tina & Amy). Anyway, let’s make some predictions! I usually only do films, but since I watched quite a bit of TV this year, I’ve decided to predict those as well. How Is 2017 Awards Season Here Already?!

Once again, limited film releases have screwed me over—hence my “Oh, shit” reaction to the 2017 Golden Globe nominations that came out today. I haven’t seen most of the films on this list because most aren’t wide releases until the end of December or beginning of January. Weirdly, I think I’ve seen more of the nominated TV shows this year. But who cares because it’s the Golden Globes, and they’re the worst. Just wait until the Screen Actors Guild nominations, which come out…WEDNESDAY?! Son of a bitch. Fine, let’s do the things. Recap of 2016 Golden Globes with GIFs!

This featured image perfectly sums up Leo’s Golden Globes win last night. It’s like he’s tasted blood and won’t stop until he gets more. Look at the determination in his eyes. He’s coming for you, Academy. He will wear you down until you give him that damn Oscar. Continue reading “Recap of 2016 Golden Globes with GIFs!”

2016 Golden Globes Predictions

Well, this is interesting. The Golden Globes are tonight, and I’m unable to watch. I ditched cable for Netflix and HBO Now (so much better), and I figured NBC would stream the show like they do with other live shows. Hell, even the Academy Awards streams, and they’re a bunch of old fogies! But no. NBC has decided to throw a cable tantrum and hold the show hostage. I didn’t think I could hate the Globes more. So I’ll be watching vicariously through Twitter… Continue reading “2016 Golden Globes Predictions”
